KINGDOM DYNAMIC
Confession to your Father unleashes the true you

Bring what you know about yourself and what you’ve done into the light of your true Father. That is confession.

“When we bring our failures to the Father, we are, in a sense, making a statement: neither sin nor the Accuser gets to define us, only the Father can do that. His Word, not our sin, is the final authority.” (Addison Bevere, Words with God)

I’ve always respected John Bevere for his unwavering focus on consecration, holiness, and the fear of the Lord.

For Christmas, one of my daughters gifted me his son’s book, Words with God. It’s a surprisingly powerful exploration of prayer.

The design of the Creator for us is a walk with Jesus into human flourishing … I think that sin can be defined in large part as missing that mark.

Confession, in the biblical sense, goes beyond keeping a clean ledger with God. It means to align with God’s truth and echo His voice about everything.

It means to say the same thing as. A good confession echoes our true Father about what we’ve done, our lives, and about everything in his good creation.

Jesus once said to those opposing Him, "I speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard from your father” (John 8:38 ESV).

This issue is binary.

So, let’s resolve to listen more deeply, more expansively to Jesus. Run to the embrace of your True Father, and let Him speak into the reality of who you are.

Deep discipleship ➡️ human flourishing

John Eldredge’s son, Blaine, talks about the rise of deep discipleship. Instead of squeezing God into our packed schedules, we’re called to prioritize our relationship with Jesus by seeking His Kingdom first—and then allowing everything else to find its place.

Penny and I took this video in recently. Substantive and stirring! Glean a few notes in your journal. I aspire to go above and beyond by going deeper.
