A future reign that shapes our NOW
King Solomon offers a head-turning glimpse into the future reign of Christ.

Hey there, Friend! Good to connect.
It’s been a couple of weeks since the last Smart Edit—I’ve been down with shingles (sort of fell off the roof!). It’s knocked me off my game more than I expected.
But, I’m slowly on the upswing now, and I appreciate your grace during the gap.
This week’s issue is shorter. But I believe King Solomon’s vision in Psalm 72—the universal reign of Christ in the coming age—can brighten our RIGHT NOW with hope and vision.

👑 A future reign that shapes our NOW
As we navigate a world in need of justice and peace, King Solomon offers a head-turning glimpse into the future reign of Christ. This prophetic vision isn’t just for tomorrow—it’s a call to live in the light of his Kingdom today.
Psalm 72 — Solomon’s vision of the Messiah
I’ve been taking in the Scriptures more during my Shingles Experience. Psalm 72 has been good for me …
This psalm is rare and remarkable. Though Solomon authored 1,005 songs (1 Kings 4:32), only two psalms are included in the Scriptures—this is one of them. (The other is Psalm 127.)
And it’s not just a royal reflection—it’s a Spirit-breathed vision of Messiah’s coming reign on earth.
Solomon begins with a prayer: “Give the king Your judgments, O God, and Your righteousness to the king’s Son.”
But this quickly expands into something far bigger than his own reign. Psalm 72 becomes a prophetic window into the Millennium—the age to come when Jesus will rule the nations from Jerusalem with justice, mercy, and unmatched authority.
Peace like rain, justice like rivers
This future King will bring deep equity to the poor and vulnerable.
Peace will saturate the land like rain. The righteous will flourish. The oppressor will be broken.
Kings and nations will bring tribute. Every enemy will bow. It’s not just poetic—it’s a God Promise.
Not escapism, but empowerment
We’re not meant to read Psalm 72 and simply pine for another day.
We’re meant to live today in light of that coming day. This Kingdom vision strengthens our resolve, recalibrates our expectations, and calls us to align our lives with the rule of Christ now.
Living in the light of his reign
Let this psalm reawaken your imagination. Let it comfort your soul when the world feels upside down.
His name will endure forever. All nations will be blessed in Him. And yes—the whole earth will be filled with His glory (v.19).
Jesus is not just coming to save the world. He’s coming to govern it—with wisdom, compassion, and other-worldly power.
So let’s live now with confidence. With clarity. Certainty. With Kingdom focus.
The future is written. And it’s glorious.
🤔 Reflection
As you reflect on this vision of Christ’s reign, how can you align your heart, actions, and prayers with this future reality? What areas of your life can you invite His Kingdom rule into right now?
