Well, this promises to be adrenaline-laced. Penny and I, along with Celeste and Sierra, are at a preview event this evening at Cedar Point in Ohio. We’ll be strapping into the re-imagined Top Thrill 2. I fancy ourselves as ‘early adopters’ … right about until we’re in line looking up at this thing. I do hear that courageous experiences can translate courage into various areas of life. 🙄

“Zero to 1” startup faith

Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into new verticals: Zero to 1 faith quests

Do you need to see something “start” in your life and circle of influence … something totally new?

In his book Zero to One, Peter Thiel dives into the concept that "doing what we already know how to do takes the world from 1 to n."

Building on the familiar, iterating what works, and striving for excellence.

But what about those seasons when there’s a call for a reset, a "ground zero" moment, begging for breakthrough? A new wineskin to receive and hold the new thing.

Thiel says, "Every time we create something that exists for the first time, we go from 0 to 1." The outcome could be something fresh and wonderfully strange.

Thiel's words resonate beyond the realm of technology and startups. They echo a higher Kingdom principle …

I'm seeing Kingdom all over this for our personal lives, the Kingdom contribution you offer, work/business, and more.

Consider the God Trio—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—the ultimate "Zero to 1" startup artists. Breathing life into the void and creating ex nihilo. Out of nothing.

This concept isn't just a theory; it's a First Principle for us as Christ-followers. Our commission? To image the creative energy of God in every aspect of our lives and circles of influence.

Your conception was a “Zero to 1” startup. You’re 2nd birth in Christ certainly was. Prayer can be the womb of “Zero to 1”. There’s more.

We’ll seek to underscore this theme in the Kingdom Dynamic section over the next couple of issues.

For now: “Holy Spirit, fill me with the light of Christ. Prime my heart and mind for new wineskin things. Thank you.”

Higher thoughts

🏆️ Kingdom Varsity: Christ is King. He’s recruiting varsity contenders. We have way more than enough JV (Junior Varsity) Christ-followers. Junior won’t meet this moment. Compete.

⏳️ Disciples of the Age to come: We can partake of the Holy Spirit, tasting the good word of God and the powers of the age to come (see Hebrews 6.4-5). Live in the righteousness and authority of the Age to Come.

🌏️ Home field advantage: We say with the great hymn, “This is my Father’s world.” The earth and everything in it are the Lord’s (Psalm 24.1). Be steadfast. Take root. Ultimately the wicked will be uprooted from earth — a refrain seen multiple times in scripture.

A superior kind of newness

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5.17 NIV)

Unlock the power of "Kainos" — a New Testament Greek word denoting a superior kind of newness — new in kind or quality rather than new in time. When you’re born again (John 3.3-8), you're regenerated into an enhanced version of yourself. Even more, you can develop in your new nature (Colossians 3:10).

Explore the promise of a "New Earth" in Revelation 21:1 — not destroyed, but refined by fire (2 Peter 3:10). We look to the "restoration of all things" (see Acts 3:19-21), including a glorified, super-enhanced earth.

Let’s pray and affirm this theme … "Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it?" (Isaiah 43.19 NASB)

Colonize earth

I adore the thought and writing of Dallas Willard (1935-2013). He was a Charismatic Southern Baptist who taught in the Philosophy Dept. at the University of Southern California!

I read one of his first books maybe 3 times: Hearing God: Developing a Conversational Relationship with God. It’s on guidance. I don’t think my mind quite went back to it’s shape before that read. Absorb anything by him. Christianity Today said he was “A man from another time zone.” He sought to live in the light and life of the Age to Come.

Jesus’ resurrection is the beginning of God’s new project not to snatch people away from earth to heaven but to colonize earth with the life of heaven. That, after all, is what the Lord’s Prayer is about.

HEALTH
Light for healing and wellness

Benefits of sunlight: Triggers the release of feel-good beta-endorphins, aiding pain relief, wound healing, and lifting moods. Our bodies need sunlight to make the “sunshine vitamin” (D3) which bolsters immunity. It also helps to fight inflammation which can trigger a host of maladies.

Obviously, take in doses of sunlight that are not damaging. See Tim Ferris on this in the footnotes.1

Red light therapy: By exposing your skin to a red light lamp, device, or laser, your cellular powerhouses, the mitochondria, absorb the light, generating more energy for your cells.

Red light therapy may help with dementia, dental pain, hair loss, osteoarthritis, tendinitis, and wrinkles. Go further..

While typically administered in a doctor's office, some salons and dental offices offer red light therapy. You can invest in your own red light therapy device too. Always consult your doctor.
